Jeffie's Plot Fails

The new kittens are getting creative in finding places to hang out.  This morning I found them up underneath my youngest nephew's truck.  I'd like to think that Jeffie was keeping an eye on them, since he was relaxing under the truck as well.  But, I think if truth be told - he talked them into climbing on the tires hoping the truck would move and run them over.

Anyway, it wasn't long before Justin showed up.  I raced out the door to stop him from taking off.  It was a good thing too, because one of the bigger cats was taking his good old time coming out.  So, Jeffie nearly got his wish today.  I'm sure he's depressed, but he'll snap out of it and try again.  LOL

When the tables have turned...

So they say as you get older you become the kid and your kid becomes the parent - tonight was another one of those nights! LOL

Mom calls me up about 20 minutes ago and says she's going in town to walk with her boyfriend. The first thing out my mouth was it's late and it's a school night. LOL It was really funny listening to mom try to justify herself. LOL

Anyway, not much happened today. I'm beat. I did get a pretty cool post put up at my stroke site. I'm going to do a series on cartooning as therapy. :] I used it when I was at my worst and had a ton of fun.

Speaking of which! Here's a toon from the past!

A sleepy morning to ya

This morning began with Bindi sitting behind me while I was getting my breakfast ready. I didn't know he was there, so he got stepped on several times before he was able to escape.

I couldn't get my balance so that's why he kept getting stepped on. I'll have guilt for the rest of my life. His little eyes kept looking up at me saying, "Why are you doing this to me????" See! Guilt till I die.

Morris is walking on borrowed time. I'm ready to kill him or at least give him a good whack on his fanny. Last night he was sitting on the porch daring any of the other cats to get inside. Idiot.

About 2 AM, the coyote were calling back and forth in the valley. That's just freaking creapy. I was worried about the horse all night. Kitty got scared and came in. They must be prowling a lot lately because all the cats minus Tiger (who I have seen lately) and Spotty are staying inside at night.

A fun moment from last night. I stepped outside with my ukulele, playing "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" to look for the cats. Just as I pulled the door shut behind me I saw 2 deer 20 yards in front of me. So, I started playing. I thought they'd leave but I guess they figured, "Hey! Cool! Dinner and music." So they kept on eating. LOL

Welp, busy day today. I have another stroke site to set up and lots and lots of articles to write. Catch ya later!

Now this is cool!

No stories from Jeff today. Instead this was inspired by Morris the Stray.

I've been really worried about him with winter coming on in a few months. I felt so bad last year that I couldn't let him in the house because it would have started a spray fest.

He had a number of places to stay warm. There was under mom's house, which was roughly a heater and of course he had the barn with lots of cubbies in the hay. But I still felt horrible.

So, this morning I did a search on igloo cat houses and got the link below. This site has a couple really cool ideas and they're cheap to make!

If you have strays hanging about you might want to give one of these a try.

I hope Morris likes it when I'm done.

howdy ho!

Welcome to the evening report. :]

Today began with lots and lots of rain! I hope I don't see the sun tomorrow either, because we could really use another day of it, plus it's so cool out it feels great!

The rain also keeps Squeeky from rolling around on the driveway. A couple good days of rain would really give her hole a chance to heal. :]

If you look at my 12 second jobber to the left, you'll see where Bindi has spent a good deal of time today. He's on my lap again. My lap is really damp. LOL

I spent today putting up a Squidoo lens. It's another stroke blog. It's different from the usual one I point you to. There are cool video of Kurt Douglas near the bottom. :]

Welp, I have one more article to post tonight, so I better scoot. I want to be finished by 7:45. Catch ya later!

this and that

Ok. My saying that I was ditching Yobeeland wasn't Yobeeland the blog, it was Yobeeland the website. Sorry about that. LOL

Bindi is back to his old ornery self. Sunday, he vanished early and didn't come home till about 9:30 that night. Nasty boy. I had him fixed so he wouldn't do stuff like that. LOL Anyway, he tired himself out and has been sleeping most of the day today. Right now he's out cold at my bedroom window.

Jeff is stuffing his cute little face in the kitchen with shredded meat stuff in a can. He loves the gravy. :] Tiger has disappeared again and I'm still working my way through the 30 day challenge. :]

That's pretty much my life right now. 30 day challenge, chasing the kids and doing my jog/walk, which right now is more walk than jog. I'm on my 3rd week trying to jog 2 minutes with ease. It sounds so silly because it's nothing to do that...unless you have my body. LOL

Welp, I'm off to check out everyone's blogs. :]

When it rains it pours...

It's off to the vet tomorrow.  Morris has been hanging out under the car a lot.  I thought it was just because it's hot.  Nope.  He has an ear chock-a-block full of infection.  It really smells bad.

I cleaned it as much as possible and gave him some amoxicillin.  It will take the vet to clean his ear out.  Hopefully, he can do everything for $30, because that's about as much as I can afford.

As for Squeeky, it looks like her abscess has gone down a bit.  *whew*

Bindi, on the other hand, has a small cyst on his side, so he'll be the next to go in.

B"H, at least Spotty's ear healed over, so that's one cat well who was sick.  LOL

Back to watching Robin Hood!  :]

Cat update

Dang!  Didn't realise I haven't posted since last Thursday.  I've been really wrapped up with Squeeky and Spotty.  Spotty had a set back.  His ear took a turn and had a big hole in it.  I used plantain to try and heal it up.  It's doing pretty good now.  He'll still be on antibiotics for another couple days.

Squeeky is Squeeky.  Her abscess isn't worse, but it's not really improving either.  Yesterday, I started applying plantain poultices.  Then today, I started making plantain washes.  You cook up the plantain leaves and use the liquid while hot (but not too hot) to apply presses on the abscess for 10 - 15 minutes.  I'll be doing that 3/day.

I'll call the vet again Thursday if the abscess hasn't shown any signs of improvement.

The rest of my time has been working on mom's pc.  I think I've logged in over 8 hours so far trying to bring it up to par.

Welp, I'm off to finish my lunch!  Make it a great day!  :]

signing off till wednesday!

Hey guys! Shavuot starts tonight, so I won't be showing my fuzzy little face until Tuesday night. I've planned a couple activities for myself: sleep, watch tv as it automatically changes stations for me, play chess, fight with the cats and eat. :]

But, before I vanish! I put one little Avon item up on eBay! I'll be putting more up come Wednesday. Anyway! Visit my little item and say hi to it! :] Little Avon item.

see ya later!

Good nearly afternoon! :]

The evil children woke me up at 4:20 this morning. I finally surrender at 5:10, crawled outa bed, broke up one fight - it took a broom to separate them, fed the cats and nearly fell asleep. :]

I'm still trying to stay awake. Anyway, I think the best way for me to wake up is go on the hill with the boys and Squeek, so I'm outa here. An adventure waits! :]

PS: I put a new article up about Father's Day gifts at the Wrinkle. I learned some really interesting stuff while researching the article. Did you know more collect phone calls are made on Father's Day than any other time of year! LOL

Attack of the pit bull and ugly dog.

Everyone at this point knows how much I hate evil nephews dogs... so, I've been doing what I call "protest" prayers, i.e., praying something happens to stop all the crap. Why? Because...

1. Evil dogs attacked mom's dachshund and no one cared.
2. Evil dogs attack my cats and no one cares.
3. Evil dogs attacked me and no one cares.

But tonight they attacked mom's horse - now mom cares. They chased Candy for close on 20 minutes. It was horrible. Mom's horse has arthritis and is 18 years old, and she had to take on a large mutt and a pit bull.

I won't go into full details but lets just say the stress took out my legs and I watched in horror as they went for her throat and gut. I can't even begin to describe what it was like to hear her whiny from the top of the hill, hear the dogs growling and barking and not be able to see what was happening to her.

B-H, she's alive and in better shape than the dogs. They have busted mouths and I'm sure bruised ribs from getting kicked again and again,

Mom finally put down the law - the dogs are to be chained and never allowed down here again. B"H, my cats are safe from the evil dogs - finally.

I hate it that the horse had to go through so much trauma to get their attention. If they had just listened it wouldn't have happened, but they kept insisting that no they were good dogs and he had total control over them. No one has control over an animal, especially dogs. Anyway, at least it will be peaceful again and a ton of stress off my shoulders.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for my body to recover. I'm in my wheelchair this morning. Hopefully in a few hours my body will be back to normal. :]

Make it a agreat day!

Ok Jeff fans! The litterbox has been updated with an all new Jeff adventure!

Good morning!!!

It's working!!! I've been hoping that Jeff and Bindi would take to exploring the hill instead of trying to commit suicide by crossing the road.

Welp! This morning when I was outside, I looked up and saw a dark cat on the hill. I thought it was Kitty. I ran inside, got the binos, went back out - and it had disappeared. Dang. A few minutes later a little head popped up and who was looking back at me? Adorable little Jeff. :] I feel proud!

Besides my deer story in last night's post, the other big event was filing for the economic stimulus payment thingy. I don't have to file each year, I only get $7704. That's one of the reasons I'm back on the farm. It's one of the reasons I'm selling Avon. LOL

Anyway, the forms confused the crap out of me. So, it was off to TurboTax online! It was so cool! I actually survived the process without sending myself into a relapse. LOL!!!

I highly doubt anyone who reads my blog ever files on simple forms, but if you do it's free. Well, federal filing is, you have to pay for them to file your State. It's about $30.

In the end, it was worth the time spent. I'm getting $300 back which means I can buy a bathroom sink (I don't have one.)! Being the cheap Jew I am, I hope to find one for about $50 or $60. (cheap grin)

Have a great day!

The meowing grass patch

Yesterday (sunday), I was out hunting dandelions.  I found around 50 running along the fence line outside my kitchen window.  :]  That was good!  So, I continued my hunt around the side of the barn.  Didn't see much, so I wondered if any were growing inside the soil part of the barn.

I took a step forward and from somewhere under my foot, a cat meowed.  I stepped back.  Silence.  I waited a bit and stepped forward.  As soon as my foot landed on the soft patch of grass, it meowed again.  This time, I freaked and jumped back.  What the heck was under there????  How was it under there??????

I looked up to refocus and there was Morris, the big yellow/orange cat.  He looked at me and meowed.  "MORRIS!!! YOU LITTLE FREAK!!! YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUTA ME!"  I burst out laughing.  Talk about feeling like an idiot!

I was so caught up in looking for dandelions, that I was only aware of Bindi, Jeff and Squeeky off to my right, but never noticed massive Morris just off to the left.  (I'm still blushing.)

Anyway!  That's your afternoon or evenings entertainment!  :]  Have a great one!

There's a tree in my house!

brrrr....yesterday the windchill went down to 25 below. The cats hunkered down and went to sleep throughout the house and I rebelled and went looking for cottonwood trees along the creek bank because I want to make lip balm.

Anyway, I think I survived about 10 minutes before I grabbed several fallen branches and raced back to the cottage like a sissy. Jeff is happy with the branches. I think he's peed on all of them. lol

B"H, the sun is finally shining, so I'm outa here. I've updated Wrinkle World and the Pelican's Post. :] Catch ya later!

Land of the Missing Balls..coming to a cat near you.

Poor Jeff is sitting at the vets having his balls zapped. I felt so bad leaving him off and hearing him cry as they carried him away - I nearly grabbed him and ran for it.

But! I was sick of him peeing (spraying) on my seforim (Torah books), my sink, tub, dishes, my pants leg, bed, walls, futon, Avon boxes, desk, file cabinet, everything in the closet and bedroom, etc., so he had to stay.

I'm supposed to pick him up at 3:00. He's going to hate me when he leans back to lick his balls and they're gone. Bindi will probably laugh at him, the girls will squeal with glee and I'll be happy knowing my house won't stink anymore. Well, except for the deer skull and leg bones I brought down.

Anyway! I'm off to get a little time on the hill. I'm hoping to finish my debris hut today. :] There's an update at Wrinkle World. It tells a little about my adventure yesterday. I'll be putting an update at the Pelican later. I have some pics I want to post. :]

Have a great one!

Shorts

Me and the Jeffinator!

We went hiking again today. Bindi was asleep so I left him at home. Anyway, I parked myself on the ridge above the pond and Jeff decided he wasn't going to be on the wet ground a minute longer. So, he climbed up and sat on my pack. :] As you can see, he was quite content. :]

This is Jeff looking depressed. He's going to the vet tomorrow to get fixed. See Jeff whimper? Whimper, Jeff. Whimper.

It will be nice to finally get some sleep. In the past month, I've had 2 good nights sleep. Last night, I got 2 hours. The lack of sleep is beginning to affect my muscles. Not good. So I told mom he has to go tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with my head in a fog. zzzzzzzzzz..... Off to get a nap.

PS: I put a cool story of my big weekend trek up at Wrinkle World. There's also an update at Pelican's Post. Catch ya later! :]

Good morning!

It's a muddy mess in the cottage this morning.  If you guessed Jeff - you're right.  LOL  He's so upset over the rain.  The only good thing about it, is now I can tell when he's been on the kitchen counter - evidence!  :]   Naughty kitty.

I go to the doc today.  She has ways of making me show up.  Like she didn't give me any refills on my purple pill.  Nasty doc.  So, I shall risk slipping into a coma in the waiting room, to get a full prescription.  :]

I'm going to eat bean soup before I go, just so I can tell her not to push too hard when she pokes at my belly.  (evil grin)

Off to fix some homemade hot cocoa.

PS:  I posted two extremely unprofessional videos at Wrinkle World.  :]  I so happy I got them done before any of the cats could knock over my camera.

Evil beasts from hell

I looked out the kitchen window this morning and there was a massive dog and a not so massive dog staring back at me. The big dog was literally the size of a pony (maybe taller) and the other was about half his size.

Out came my slingshot! Unfortunately, the sweatpants I had on didn't have pockets, so I wasn't able to keep the onslaught of rocks flying. The evil mongrels caught on. So I ran in the house and pulled out my 22 pistol!

By the time I got out, the shorter varmint was running full speed down the field and the other was half way up the hill. I fired in the air to scare him off. It worked. He ran for his life.

Meanwhile, I went about the yard yelling for the cats, while looking like a stupid redneck with my holster hanging from my belt.

B"H, my cats are fine. Everyone had run for the trees. I'm hoping the stupid mongrels will cross the road and pester the neighbours. The neighbours will shoot them. :]
