Cat update

Welp! Called the vet this morning and the assistant told me to clean out Morris' ear with peroxide and water and put him on amoxicillin. That saved me a trip to the vet! On the other hand, it made me feel like I really am Dr. Doolittle. LOL

Anyway, it's going to be a busy day keeping track of his ear and cleaning it when necessary. I'm so glad he's such a sweet cat and lets me do anything I want to his ears. He's much nicer about it than my cats. LOL

Welp, I'm outa here to take care of the little begger. This is going to be one stinky job. (yo holds nose and turns head)

When it rains it pours...

It's off to the vet tomorrow.  Morris has been hanging out under the car a lot.  I thought it was just because it's hot.  Nope.  He has an ear chock-a-block full of infection.  It really smells bad.

I cleaned it as much as possible and gave him some amoxicillin.  It will take the vet to clean his ear out.  Hopefully, he can do everything for $30, because that's about as much as I can afford.

As for Squeeky, it looks like her abscess has gone down a bit.  *whew*

Bindi, on the other hand, has a small cyst on his side, so he'll be the next to go in.

B"H, at least Spotty's ear healed over, so that's one cat well who was sick.  LOL

Back to watching Robin Hood!  :]

Good morning!

Welp!  It's been a long week.  I've worked hard and am living for Shabbos.  I need the rest.  :]

Today is going to be a very very easy day.  I'll probably knock off work around 1:00.  I cheated an bought bagels yesterday to use for Shabbos.  It's too hot too bake anything.  The kitchen will get hot enough with me making potato salad and egg salad.  :]

I haven't really done a lot this morning.  I've been researching Zoe Koplowitz to encourage myself to fight harder and stop making excuses.  I'm hoping to order her book next week.  I read it before, but want a copy for my library.

If you guys don't remember or don't know who she is, she has MS and has limped her way with forearm crutches in over 20 marathons (NYC, Boston, London).  That's 26 miles on forearm crutches!  How inspiring is that!  And she's fat and now has diabetes!  :]  We are all now without excuses!  Feel the guilt?  LOL

Welp, I'm outa here.  Need to get lunch going.

Make it a great weekend!

Cat update

Dang!  Didn't realise I haven't posted since last Thursday.  I've been really wrapped up with Squeeky and Spotty.  Spotty had a set back.  His ear took a turn and had a big hole in it.  I used plantain to try and heal it up.  It's doing pretty good now.  He'll still be on antibiotics for another couple days.

Squeeky is Squeeky.  Her abscess isn't worse, but it's not really improving either.  Yesterday, I started applying plantain poultices.  Then today, I started making plantain washes.  You cook up the plantain leaves and use the liquid while hot (but not too hot) to apply presses on the abscess for 10 - 15 minutes.  I'll be doing that 3/day.

I'll call the vet again Thursday if the abscess hasn't shown any signs of improvement.

The rest of my time has been working on mom's pc.  I think I've logged in over 8 hours so far trying to bring it up to par.

Welp, I'm off to finish my lunch!  Make it a great day!  :]

The joy of cats!

Spotty came home this evening with smelly pus oozing from his latest ear wound.  I can't believe it.  Anyway, I think I've gotten most if not all the pus squeezed out.  He was such a good boy. He not only let me drain the pus without of fus, but also sat patiently while I trimmed away the hair around his wound.  Now is that a good boy or what?!  :]

It was another moment that made me really happy that I have my homemade medicine chest.  I was able to clean the wound with yarrow tincture and then add my homemade healing salve.  He can get either one in his mouth and it won't harm him.  Actually, it might heal any odd things going on inside.  LOL  Unlike store bought stuff.

Otherwise, it's been a rather calm day, with the exception of a migraine.  :[  But it's still been good.

Off to enter today's bike ride!  See ya tomorrow!

Good morning!

I didn't get much sleep last night.  All the cats were cold and snuggled up against me trying to keep warm.  They aligned themselves in such a way I could barely move.  LOL  Jeff naturally crawled under my blankets.  I was glad.  He's like a little heater.  :]

This afternoon I'm going for a bike ride, at least I'm hoping to.  I wanted to yesterday, but I got back late from town and was too tired.  bummer

Anyway, that's my day.  Before I go, for those who had bid on the Anew eye cream, it may be re-listed after Shabbos.  I still haven't heard from or received payment from the person who won the bid.  I think I'm going to shorten the response time with the other products.  Waiting 5 days for someone to pay is a bit ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm outa here.  Make it a great one!

zzzzzzzzzzz

Squeeky wrote a post over at Jeff's blog.  :]

This has been a tough day.  The cats didn't let me sleep last night.  I got to bed late again and then starting at 2:20 AM, Bindi decided he wanted out and made a racket for almost the rest of the night.  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

So, today has been a fight to stay awake.  I hope they let me sleep tonight.  *whimper*

Welp, I'm outa here.  I'll catch up on blog reading tomorrow morning. I'm off to get ready for bed.  zzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's up!!!!

Hey bike fans!!!! Remember my old biking blog where I posted pics and vids of my trips? Well....I'm back! No long rides like back then. I don't think my knees can handle it, but for short rides like 16 - 20 miles out and back, I should be good for it.

Anway! At least for the first 2 - 3 weeks, I'll only be riding outdoors every other day. I have no desire to over-do it. But! The blogging will be consistent. :] So here's the link to Yo's 2008 Biking Log!

happy reading!

Shameless act of self-promotion!

Life back to normal

Shavuot is over.  It wasn't as torturing as I thought it'd be.  LOL  I kicked back and read the 3rd volume of "Gemarakup Super Sleuth," then started in on volume 4.  Plus, I spent time learning Talmud, sleeping and sitting outside watching the birds and deer.

Speaking of birds!  I had to rescue several baby Barn Swallows that had fallen from their nests.  That was fun!  Scary, but fun!

That's pretty much been it.  Outa here to exercise, eat breakfast and get back to work.

Make it a great day!

signing off till wednesday!

Hey guys! Shavuot starts tonight, so I won't be showing my fuzzy little face until Tuesday night. I've planned a couple activities for myself: sleep, watch tv as it automatically changes stations for me, play chess, fight with the cats and eat. :]

But, before I vanish! I put one little Avon item up on eBay! I'll be putting more up come Wednesday. Anyway! Visit my little item and say hi to it! :] Little Avon item.

see ya later!

Morning rant and rage...

Worthless, pathetic, mamser, how I wish he would be sent to Iraq, step on a landmine and be blown to bits, nephew brought his dogs down again last night.  I keep telling mom he's not going to listen to her, but grandparents always like to believe their grandchildren care enough to obey.  They don't.  Wake up.

Anyway, one of my cousins is living with him and brought the dogs down again this morning.  I tore his head off.  Then went and got my shotgun and chased the pit bull into the field and shot at him.

On the bright side, when the pit bull saw me this time he didn't come up, he started running.  He'll eventually learn if he doesn't stay away he's getting shot.

I've got to remember to keep my high tech Buck Rogers Beanflipper (slingshot) in my back pocket so I can also sting the crap out of them.

Ok.  I'm finished now.  Off to breakfast and on with my day.  :]  Make it a great one!

Untitled

B"H, I was spared again.  The water was higher than it has been all season.  It was dead even with the bridge.  It came out of the creek and went 30 yards across the yard in front of me.  In the end, it was simply the rachmones of the Avershter (G-d's mercy) that spared me again, because it was right up there.

Anyway, this morning the sun is shining and all's good!  :]

Off to get some work done!  Make it a great day!

dang it!!!!

Still under tornado warning until 1, which right now means nothing when the flood water is about 3" or 4" away from coming into my laundry and bathroom.  CRAP!!!!  I didn't get any sleep last night because the thunder was so loud and lasted a whole 6.5 hours and there won't be any sleep tonight because I have to flood ready the cottage.

I'm tired.  Back to flood prepping.

PS:  It's consoling to know everyone mom met today couldn't sleep last night because of the thunder and lightening, so at least I wasn't the only one walking around like a zombie today.  LOL

Can you say, "They're back!"

Evil nephew's evil dogs were on the hill again tonight.  B"H, I saw them when I came out of the bathroom.  I had fun trying to scare them with the gun.  I got mad when the first shot didn't work.

I want to get a pellet gun now.  Found out my brother has been shooting at them to make them run and when that hasn't worked he shot them with pellets.  On the other hand, I could save a good deal of money just buying slingshot pellets.  :]  I love my slingshot.  :]

Anyway, on the bright side, my Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition game came Friday.  YEA!!! It's totally awesome!!!  I spent nearly all day today either playing chess, being tutored in tactics or watching master games being played.  It's been great!!!

I'm outa here!  Gotta get to bed before midnight.  :]  Catch y'all later!
