Crazy day!

Got to bed around midnight and around 5:00 AM this morning I woke up with a headache. oy. (yo sits feeling sorry for herself and wondering why she's referring to herself in the 3rd person.)

I spent most of the day lying down.

Squeeky has a "yucky" neck. The scab fell off. She's back on antibiotics to make sure she doesn't get infected while we wait for the hole to heal. Problem is - she keeps scratching it and rolling. She's not helping. :[

Anyway, I'm outa here. It's been a long day and I'm not feeling all that great. Catch ya tomorrow!

That's quit a whole. Did you take a bite out of her neck or has Dracula been around? lol It's a shame animals won't hold still for bandaids or something. Well I hope it heals and I hope your feeling better too. Hugs.

Can you try liquid bandage on it?

WOW! I never thought of that! Can you use it on that deep a wound?

Hmm, i don't know if you can use it on deep wounds.

If its not healing you also might try to make up Dakin's solution which is used on bed sores which look like that.

Really all it is , is bleach in boiled water.
Dakin's solution: mix 1 tablespoon of liquid Clorox in a quart of boiled water: it kills staph (the most common bug). Soak gauze in it and put on wound, cover with dry gauze, and change 3 times a day. If successful in two days (redness going away, wound with much less pus and less pain) then continue it until it heals. If it gets worse on this, stop it and see an MD.

Now even if wounds are not infected Dakins seems to speed healing.
You can give it a try though I am not sure what he would do with licking. You might need an Elizabethan collar for him til it heals as you dont want him licking the dakins or chewing the gauze pad off.
ask you vet what he thinks about that.
